The Hunger Games win big at the Teen Choice Awards

The 2012 Teen Choice Awards were given out this evening and The Hunger Games walked away with nine awards!   We won for Choice Actress-Sci Fi/Fantasy (Jennifer Lawrence), Choice Actor Sci-Fi/Fantasy (Josh Hutcherson), Choice Male Scene Stealer (Liam Hemsworth), Choice Villain (Alexander Ludwig), Choice Single by a female artist (Taylor Swift – Eyes Open), Choice Lip Lock (Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson), Choice Chemistry (Jennifer Lawrence and Amandla Stenberg),  Choice Movie Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and Choice Book!  Pretty sweet hull if you ask me!  See excerpt from MTV‘s coverage below!

Justin Bieber, One Direction, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and the casts of “Twilight” and “The Hunger Games” are all proud owners of brand-new surfboards after coming away winners at Sunday’s (July 22) Teen Choice Awards.

The 14th annual awards show was hosted by Demi Lovato and “Glee” star Kevin McHale and featured a host of multiple winners from across the entertainment landscape. It also saw performances by Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida and No Doubt, who gave their first televised performance of their new single “Settle Down.”

Awards were voted on by fans, who cast a total of 134 million votes, Lovato reported during the show.

And here’s what they said specifically about The Hunger Games:

“The Hunger Games” star Josh Hutcherson was named Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and was quite proud of his new trophy. “I’ve always wanted to own my own surfboard, so now I have one. This is awesome!” he said. “The Hunger Games” was also named Choice Book and Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and Hutcherson and co-star Jennifer Lawrence were given Choice Lip Lock honors.
